At 1645 hours on 27 April 1943 Hurricane HW745 crashed six miles north of Pont Du Fahs, Tunisia. The aircraft burst into flames while diving through enemy anti-aircraft fire and Flight Lieutenant Hamlet was killed. His body was found by members of a British Regiment.
