On 5 November 1944, Boomerang A46-192 flown by Flying Officer Granger was detailed to make a tactical reconnaissance of the Mount Molloy to Trinity road. A Volunteer Air Observers Corp member reported that an aircraft flying low had crashed at 1445 hours in hills and burned, 3 miles east of Mt Molloy.
