On 3 March 1945, Leading Aircraftman Goodger, a Fabric Worker, died of injuries received when a weapon carrier in which he was travelling collided with an Army truck at Rocky Creek, 10 miles from Mareeba. The RAAF Members involved and the Army member killed in the accident were:
