On the night of 17 August 1943, Lancaster EE117 took off from RAF Woodhall Spa at 2151 hours, detailed to attack Peenemunde, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed at Ustrup, Denmark, and all the crew members were killed.
