On 28 November 1945, Flight Sergeant Giles, a Fitter Armourer, was admitted to No. 110 Australian General Hospital seriously ill with a myocardial failure. He was removed from the seriously ill list on 16 December 1945. He died on 4 February 1947 and was cremated in the Rookwood Crematorium, Sydney, NSW.
