Wellington LB195 took off from Protville, Tunisia at 2040 hours on the night of 15 June 1943 to carry out a close anti-sub patrol escort of convoy ‘Parcel’. At 0020 hours on 16 June the aircraft suddenly went off the RDF plot in position 30.55N 020.04E. The aircraft was not seen again and failed to return to base.
