Wellington HF205 of No 612 (County of Aberdeen) Squadron took off from Chivenor at 2332 hours on 29 October 1943 on an anti-submarine patrol in the Bay of Biscay. The aircraft was due to land at 0930 hours on 30 October 1943, but did not return and no radio message was received. The weather was continuous rain and low cloud with conditions bad for radio communications. The aircraft and crew is presumed lost at sea.
