On 18 July 1944, Flight Lieutenant Capron (Administrative and Special Duties) was admitted to Station Sick Quarters Richmond and then transferred to No. 3 RAAF Hospital, Concord West, seriously ill. He died on 20 July 1944 from a coronary occlusion.
