On the night of 10/11th April 1944, Lancaster ED808 took off from RAF Mildenhall Suffolk, at 0125 hours, detailed to bomb railway yards at Lyons, France. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off, and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed some 25 kms to 30 kms north of Le Havre and all the crew members were killed.
