On 23 November 1943, Aircraftman Class I Bunce, a Fitter IIE, was admitted to No. 110 Australian General Hospital, Hollywood, seriously ill with concussion.  At 1520 hours, he was proceeding home riding his motor cycle in Osborne Park, and was injured in an accident, and conveyed to hospital.  He died later that evening.
