On 9 May 1944, Leading Aircraftman Bulmer, a Fitter II Airframe, suffered second degree burns in an accident while on duty when he was filling a petrol container which ignited. He was admitted to No. 26 Military Clearing Station, Admiralty Islands, but died of his injuries on 11 May 1944.
