At 1215 hours on 27 November 1941 Wellesley L2691 crashed in position 09.50N 039.45E. The aircraft encountered a violent up draught while crossing mountains on a mail route. The starboard main plane was badly damaged and broke away, and the aircraft broke up in mid-air. The crew of two was killed.
