Brother of Flight Lieutenant Walter Michael Blom DFC (40041) (RAF)

The compliment of HMAS Sydney was lost in the naval battle with the German raider HSK Kormoran on the evening of 19 November 1941. 642 RAN, RAAF, RN members and civilians were killed.
