At 0745 hours on 15 October 1941 Blenheim V5875 took off from West Raynham detailed to carry out an anti-shipping patrol on the eastern half of Beat 8. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft was shot down by an enemy fighter and crashed into the sea off Holland. The crew of three was killed.
