On the 14 August 1944, Hurricane LDII was flying number 2 in a Section of two aircraft that took off at 1540 hours, on a reconnaissance of the Kaladan and Kalabor rivers. After about 50 minutes flying, the Section Leader saw LDII dive towards the ground, pull up to about 150 feet, and then dive once more and hit the ground.
