On 30 January 1945, Kittyhawk T927 flown by Flying Officer Adams was one of a formation of 11 aircraft detailed to attack a railway bridge at North Padua, Italy. The aircraft bombed from north to south from 19,000 feet to 1,500 feet, and while in its bombing run T927 was seen to be hit with pieces flying off the aircraft. It burst into flames and continued to disintegrate until it crashed into the ground killing Flying Officer Adams.
