LEST WE FORGET

Air Operations (No. 464 Squadron Mosquito aircraft NT189), Netherlands, 19 November 1944

Mosquito NT189 took off from RAF Thorney Island at 2015 hours on the night of 18/19th November 1944, being part of a squadron force of fifteen aircraft detailed to carry out night intruder operations on road and rail junctions, roads and bridges in Netherlands and north west Germany. NT189 failed to return from the mission. It was later learned that both crew members had lost their lives and they are buried in the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery.
