LEST WE FORGET

Air Operations (No. 464 Squadron Mosquito aircraft HX851), Germany, 29 January 1944

Mosquito HX851 took off from RAF Hunsdon at 2340 hours on the night of 28 January 1944 to carry out a night intruder mission on airfields in the Munster/Harsdorf area, Germany. Six aircraft from the Squadron took part in the mission and HX851 failed to return. Both the crew members lost their lives and they are buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.
