LEST WE FORGET

Aircraft Accident: (No. 458 Squadron Wellington aircraft LA993), Egypt, 6 June 1943

On 28 June 1943, the starboard engine of LA993 caught fire and the aircraft crashed 9 kms south west of Landing Ground 106. All crew members were killed and are buried in the El Alamein Cemetery, Egypt.
