Halifax LL138 took off from RAF Full Sutton at 2340 hours on the night of 22/23rd May
1944, detailed to bomb Railway facilities at Orleans, France. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed at Seris (Loire-et-Cher), 23 kms north east of Blois, France. Four of the crew were killed and three became Prisoners of War, one of whom was injured and subsequently died.
