Subject
Science – Physical sciences
Tour Description
Students will be engaged in a walking tour of fixed wing aircraft. By the end of the tour, they will be able to identify three main forces of flying – lift, pull, and thrust. With guidance, students will observe the main features of the aircraft used for flight such as wings used to create lift, propellors used to pull the aircraft through the air, and engines used to create thrust. Highlights include the Sopwith Camel with a moving propellor, C47 Dakota and Avro Lancaster. Students will gain an insight into how each of these aircraft flies.
