The Aviation Heritage Museum is a proud initiative of the Air Force Association WA Limited (RAAFA). With roots dating back to 1929, the museum has grown from a single aircraft restoration project into one of Australia’s most significant aviation collections.
Our Story
From the restoration of the Kalgoorlie Biplane in 1929 to the acquisition of iconic aircraft like the Mark 22 Spitfire, Avro Lancaster Bomber, and Douglas Dakota, our museum has been built on passion, dedication, and community support. Over the decades, volunteers and aviation enthusiasts have contributed thousands of hours to preserve aircraft, artefacts, photographs, and stories that honour Australia’s aviation history.
Thanks to generous donations, including major contributions from the Government of Western Australia, we’ve expanded our facilities to include:
- South and North Wings housing over 30 aircraft
- Specialised Libraries for books, photographs, and models
- Interactive Displays including Vietnam War and WAAAF/WRAAF exhibits
- Virtual Reality Experiences that bring history to life
- School Education Programs aligned with curriculum
