At 1600 hours on 4 December 1943, Wellington DF703 crashed near Tunis, Tunisia, while being ferried from No. 162 Maintenance Unit, Blida, to No. 205 Group. It was believed the accident occurred due to failure of the aircraft brakes. Pilot Officer Addison died of his injuries, and the others on board were not injured.
